Motherhood does not make a mom feel any lesser from anyone else. We bring you stories, inspirations, and the journey of motherhood for our readers. We are back with a yet another inspiring feature this time – Mrs. Monuca Arora.
Monuca Arora is an HR professional and a co-founder of Enjobs, a woman centric executive search firm. She’s dreamy and passionate about her work. Through Triyana, she promotes women travel, as she firmly believes that traveling is the key to liberation. She finds encouragement in the unwavering support of her husband and does not hesitate to take big leaps into the unknown territory. She wants her son to grow up seeing his mother as a fearless woman who chooses to pursue her passion.
Monuca Arora shares her thoughts on being a mother and a glimpse of her motherhood journey with themommytale.
Being a mother is one of the best joys in a woman’s life. And for me, it has been nothing less than an adventure! An adventure that came with its own set of challenges and life lessons that have helped me grow as a human being. When I became a mother, my life changed on so many levels. Post pregnancy, my work or career, as I knew it, evolved into something so much more meaningful and fulfilling, contrary to what most people think – that your career takes a back seat once you have household responsibilities and especially once you become a mother.
Since the birth of my son, I have been not just a full-time mommy, but also a successful entrepreneur with Enjobs; I pursue my travel dreams to my heart’s content, and have also been able to extend this opportunity of travel without any inhibitions to other women and mommies through Triyana, a travel club. My experiences as a mother and my drive to live life to the fullest has only led me further in doing what I am doing today.
Monuca Arora shares her professional journey and the inception of Enjobs and Triyana.
Prior to Enjobs, I worked in the corporate sector. I was in the administrative and human resources role for many years. When I was expecting my child, I had to quit my job because of the situation at that time. My extended family expected me to stay at home and take care of the domestic responsibilities. But with the support of my husband, I was able to pursue my own dreams. I thought, why can’t I be a mother and follow a life of my choice, build my career and do something worthwhile? It was then that the seed of Enjobs was planted. I thought, why not build a workable business model for women who find it difficult to devote time to a typical 9-5 job and at the same time reap good financial benefits plus fulfill their household commitments. Thus, Enjobs was born.
Triyana, however, was born out of a shared love for travel between my friends and me – a hunger for adventure, a love affair with Ladakh! It was an escapade from our daily grind and mechanical lives. It transformed us and filled us with such awe and gratitude. We wanted to share this with other women like us; we wanted to get more people to experience what we had experienced.
Being a mother, a wife, a daughter, a career woman should never stop you from living your dreams, traveling and exploring. This is how Triyana came to existence.
Enjobs and Triyana follow women centric approach. Both are meant to support women. Monuca Arora shares how Enjobs and Triyana are different from other organizations.
Enjobs and Triyana are both tied by a common cause – which is, freedom to make and live by your own choices as a woman. Freedom from excuses of domestic burdens, or inhibitions of living life to the fullest just because you have little kids to look after, freedom from financial dependence or being bound by expectations of society or even your own family.
Enjobs is a recruitment and executive search service provider run by an all-women team. It provides a flexi-job opportunity to women who hail from corporate sectors but who can’t or by choice prefer not to pursue 9 to 5 full-time jobs due to limitations of being a single parent, or if they have small kids to look after, health issues or any other domestic constraints.
Enjobs helps them earn a sustainable, independent income and familiarizes them with the nuances of entrepreneurship. Full-time work may not always be practical for new moms, physically-challenged women or women who have some domestic constraints or gave up their career for the sake of their family, or to look after a sick parent or any other reason.
Enjobs empowers such women, makes them financially independent and fuels their entrepreneurial spirit. Triyana, like I said, is a venture that mainly aims to help women realize their travel dreams and make them a reality. We’ve met so many wonderful women during our Triyana journey and these women inspire us, encourage us to spread our wings and fly even higher.
We’ve had single women who’ve never traveled alone before, housewives who were hesitant to step out because their kids were too small, women who were not confident of journeying at all, or who could never make the time, or were too caught up in their work and family life – but yet they made it. Their experiences at the end of it all stand testimony to why Triyana is such a boon to moms from all walks of life.
We all are moms in the first place; it is so challenging yet motivational to work and be a mom at the same time. Monuca Arora shares her challenges and mantra to overcome the same.
We are all mothers in the first place; that’s absolutely true. And as mothers, what is it that we should yearn to do? What is our foremost duty to our children? I think one of the most significant roles a mother plays in the life of her children is that of a leader. True, in our kids’ lives, we have to be a nurturer, protector, provider of unconditional love, also a guide, a teacher, a mentor and a leader. How can a mother lead best? I believe that a mother leads best by example, just as a child learns best by example. I cannot put it more simply. We often tell our children to follow their dreams, to be strong and fearless, to be self-motivated and yearn for the goals they have set a target on.
But unless children see their mothers actually living their lives, balancing their responsibilities, facing challenges, winning and moving forward or losing and learning valuable lessons, how will they actually learn? My son has grown up watching me juggle responsibilities of being a mother, a homemaker, a driven entrepreneur and an avid traveler. He recognizes my passion for my career as well as my zeal for travel.
He also knows that I never let him or his needs take a backseat. He has learned to be an independent young man, wise for his age, compassionate, always willing to learn and try new things and most importantly, he has a good heart. Seeing him grow in the values his dad and I have tried to inculcate in him is my biggest reward and motivation.
Yes, there are always challenges along the way – managing time is always a big challenge, balancing work, home and travel without neglecting my own mental and physical health is a challenge. But with the right mindset, with persistence and by learning from mistakes, one can always overcome them. My mantra is that true liberation can only come from self-motivation. Only when you help yourself first, you can help your family.
Monuca Arora is an inspiring personality; here she shares her achievements as a mom and as a founder of Enjobs and Triyana.
As a mother, my biggest achievement is seeing my son grow into a caring, compassionate and intelligent young man. When I see him learn and adapt the values I try to teach him, it inspires me to do better, to keep following my dreams and see him follow his. He fills me with joy and pride.
Enjobs and Triyana are also my babies!
Both these ventures are very close to my heart. When I see my business thrive and the lives of so many women transformed through both Enjobs and Triyana, that’s what makes me happy and proud.
My aim is to work harder and help both Enjobs and Triyana reach newer heights. Enjobs gives women the freedom to work and earn without any limitations, and Triyana yearns to encourage women to travel without any inhibitions – they are both successful in fulfilling these aims, and that is my biggest achievement.
Monuca Arora is an inspiring woman indeed; here she suggests our readers some amazing tips for life.
Finding the right balance is key. But never compromise on one for the sake of the other. It may take time, but be perseverant. You CAN be a mom and still follow your dreams of traveling, writing, running a business, being a sportsperson, doing social work, whatever it is that defines you as a person.
Never compromise on your own aspirations and passions. Do your best at whatever you are doing – whether in being a mother, or a wife, or a professional. But always remember, you’re a woman, an individual first. And your duty lies to yourself first.
Love yourself first! Everything else will fall into place; just remember to never give up on your dreams. Be an independent thinker and doer. There lies your true liberation.
I thank you, Mrs. Monuca Arora, for sharing your journey with us; it is truly inspiring and I wish you all the best for future. I am sure her journey has touched you. You can check out about her ventures here: Enjobs and Triyana .
