Learning is so much fun if it is based on an activity. Yes, kids learn faster and absorb the concept quickly if they are introduced to play based or activity-based learning. In schools, I have seen teachers use many board games, and other objects to help these little minds learn and master the new concepts. As a mother, I always wish my child to learn the new concepts with ease. Hence, I plan and purchase the purchase of toys as per the age and learning requirements. We buy toys which help in child’s overall development that includes fine motor, Gross motor, Cognitive skills and enhances imagination. Recently while exploring options for toys for my children I came across a great brand named Skola.

Skola believes that every child is different and has a unique learning journey. The toys by Skola are well researched and planned as per the age and different learning concepts that a child will undergo in the journey. As well as it enhances their skills and overall development. I was sent across one toy for my 2.5 yrs old sonny boy and I am sharing my experience on the wonderful toy over here.

Toy: Sock Twins Colours

Age appropriate for: 2.5+ yrs

About Sock Twins Colours from Skola toys.

Sock Twins Colours is a beautiful board game on a bright white color board with a pair of socks of 9 different colors. The colors are bright, the board frame is nice and no sharp edge on the top so you can give the toy directly in the hand of your child without any fear.

Concept :

I loved the ideation of pairing socks, something you cannot use if not in a pair, something which we commonly use in our daily life. It’s a relatable object to pair. Children love the color pairing and the activity is designed by Skola in a way to make them understand the importance of pairing.
As Socks are in a pair of colors so it gives an opportunity to a child to master memory game by putting back the same color with a pair it again.

Activities:

A – Inserting – I showed my Son to take out the sock from the frame and insert again. He loved the inserting part and kept saying “I will do mumma “.

B – Pairing – Making pair is an important learning concept in early years. We play it saying one sock of Mumma and one of sonny boy then we pair with each other. So much fun 🙂

C – Learning Colours – Oh Yes indeed it’s a truly fun way to recognize and learn colors. We are in love with the toy already. Sonny Boy says where is my pink socks ha ha…

D – Memory Game – We inverted all the socks and kept in different tray now, I asked my son to pick one and put on board. Then we asked him to find the other pair from the inverted socks. If he finds the pair he says “yay mumma look I won”. And If he does not find the pair mumma says “Try again”.

Learning outcome:

This activity is best for gross motor and fine motor skills development. The Twinning color game form Skola is the best way to enhance memory, hand & eye coordination and fun.
It is the best way to keep your child engaged and helps in reducing the screen time.

Mommy’s Recommendation:

I would highly recommend the toys from Skola for your child. These toys are easy to manage, lightweight and safe as made from wood. The concept is to introduce learnings with activity based toys.
