Motherhood, celebration for Life.

Motherhood celebration for Life.

Motherhood celebration for Life.

As soon as I declared my pregnancy news in the house. The entire family was happy and dancing. The arrival of a baby after 30 years in the family, this was the time again to feel baby’s touch, the Entire house will be filled with baby smell, baby cooing and what not. All family members were ready for a grand welcome and me for my Motherhood, celebration for life.

My Mother-in-law was super thrilled. Next morning she called me to her room, “Yogita, come sit” she held my hand and made me sit on her bed. “Since the first day Jeevan, my Son arrived in my life I kept all this safely,” she said while taking out a big box from her Cupboard.

The box was so beautiful and was kept safe like a treasure chest. “This Box has some special memories of my motherhood journey, this is so precious for me,” she said and touched the box with warmth. “I am so excited mumma please show me ” I replied.

“Yes, But first, Let me tell you that I have 5 such boxes, dedicated to my journey as a mom and to my love for Jeevan”. She added “Yogita, I kept these boxes and each item in the box safely since 30 years, You know why? ” My excitement was pumping and my heart was beating on the top.
I excitedly asked “why”? ..

Mom opened the box. ” to share and celebrate my journey with you, See this is my first appointment with the doctor and here is what she wrote Pregnancy confirmed.” I just looked at her face the emotions were evident and her eyes had tears of happiness. Jeevan was the only son and Mumma lost her 3 more kids before Jeevan was conceived due to some unexpected and unknown medical conditions.

One by one she started taking out items from the box. Pregnancy medical record file, First pictures, Hand, and Foot impression on a sheet which was beautifully decorated and laminated, rattle, toys, Jeevan’s Cloths first Polka, his mittens and booties and much more. I was so happy to see all the items.

Motherhood celebration for Life.

Motherhood celebration for Life.

“Mumma this is a Treasure chest of Motherhood”. I could feel the freshness of baby smell, the freshness of memories.
I couldn’t resist asking “what is in the other 4 boxes?”. Mumma smiled and replied “phases of motherhood”. I really wish to know what all, Mumma judges my curiosity and added: “Yes, a Baby box is with you now, Next box is toddler box, than school goer, College and University and ..”
I jumped at “AND?” Mumma laughed and said, “Marriage and kids I have kept Jeevan’s Marriage pics and memories related to your present life and in that box, I keep adding present time..” she touched my cheeks with the love and warmth.
I just loved her idea and her celebration of motherhood is continued. And I wish to celebrate motherhood in the same way. Well, Today we do have many options to store memories Fresh.

1. Online Albums
2. Photo frames
3. Picture tree on your wall
4. Laminating first Cloths and booties cap etc in a beautiful frame and can decorate on the wall.
5. casting hand and foot.

Celebrate Motherhood and Keep memories Fresh forever ! This story gave me a very good lesson Motherhood is not a burden It’s a celebration.

When moms take out old things that we have long forgotten, we feel so thankful and grateful. Moms are always special and kids are to their moms ☺
